Greg Mehdi was a founding member of the Board of Directors of Carrie Mehdi Foundation. Sadly, Greg passed away in a car accident on July 29, 2014. A memorial service, celebrating Greg’s life, was held on September 7, 2014, at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena. The event was attended by a large gathering of family and friends.
Greg was the beloved son of Carrie and Zafar Mehdi. Born in Pasadena at Huntington Hospital on July 16, 1984, Greg’s early education, from Pre-Kindergarten to 6th grade, was at Clairbourn School, a private school near Pasadena. In 7th grade he was admitted to Flintridge Preparatory School, a private school in La Canada Flintridge. He completed high school with honors in 2003. Afterwards he was admitted to Tufts University in Massachusetts where he earned his Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Environmental Science and American Studies. After spending time at college on the East Coast, Greg returned to his roots and came back to Los Angeles. He became interested in real estate and started his own very successful real estate consulting business right after college. He enjoyed a good life, filled with excitement and laughter, and lived happily with his girlfriend in Los Angeles.
Greg loved life and enjoyed reading, golf, music, and attending concerts. Greg’s mom Carrie passed away in September 2012. After his mom’s passing, along with family and friends, he led the formation of Carrie Mehdi Foundation. Greg was passionate about supporting organizations that helped people who were in need. With his recommendations, CMF added the Los Angeles Mission, Union Station Homeless Services, Homeless Health Care Los Angeles and the Midnight Mission to the list of organizations that CMF supports.
Greg’s positive attitude and love for life will be greatly missed. However, his spirit will live on forever through the good deeds of the Carrie Mehdi Foundation.
